The Spiritual Voice

The Spiritual Voice podcast is a show about spirituality from all walks of life, designed with the inquisitive soul in mind. While we might feature a guest or two with backgrounds in Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Zen, or Taoism, from priests to psychics, these interviews don’t tread familiar ground. Our goal is to empower self-discovery and personal development by presenting useful practices, techniques, recommendations, and resources from a panoply of traditions, cultures, and sociological perspectives. Mysticism, Sufism, meditation, yogic, mantras & tantric traditions, alchemy, shamanism, divination, ancient wisdom traditions, angels, trance, God/god, art, tarot, psychedelics, minimalism, karma, spiritual pilgrimages, travel, the awakening process, and even a dominatrix are just some of the points of view we’ve brought to listeners interested in exploring how and why they believe what they believe. Host Pol Cousineau, a CPA, Marketing and Technology Expert, and Spiritual Health & Leadership Mentor, asks the big questions, getting his guests to offer up sometimes surprising and always inspiring answers. Danielle Lynn tackles the topic of manifestation which can be seen as a buzz word. At least I’ve seen it used left and right on several social media groups without providing anything more meaningful than equating it as wishful thinking that comes true. The show starts off by me admitting that I was very anxious in one of the last conversations with Danielle and we step right into this vulnerable, authentic and transparent space for what is an intimate conversation between us, yourself included!

In our lives we are socially conditioned and taught that certain ways of feeling and being should not be expressed. We are taught to repressed certain thoughts and feelings, even from yourself. Voicing what is true to you is authenticity which is one of the first steps of consciously manifesting whatever you want in your reality.

When you feel one way and you voice something else you are creating a layer of separation between yourself and reality.

Manifestation is moment to moment creation by living. It is how you are choosing to create in your reality. There are two categories of creation, one which is conscious creation and the other is unconscious creation.

The discussion explores the concept of spiritual hierarchy as well as the ego thoughts. In the state of being and heart space there is no hierarchy. We are all sparks of the divine.

The core primary perspective is that you are the prime creator of your reality. What this means is that you are the one who is creating internally to externally everything that you are experiencing and seeing into this world. What tends to happen is that this is forgotten on some level which can lead us to believe that we have to create externally to internally.

When you believe that something external from you then you create a reality in which external things affect you.

Consciously creating those not come from our thoughts. Thoughts are the reflection of the state of being and vibration at which we are at. Actually you are creating from your state of being. Many people live their live by doing which is also thought actions. We are thinking that we have to create something, create a plan and steps that control every aspect of life. When you are creating that things must be a certain way or that you need an amount of money then you are creating that you need a certain amount of money before your creation can take place.

Instead of creating this extra step you can flow in the state of awareness. You focus on the aspect of creation that you want. All you need to focus on is the now step from you.

The secret to manifesting is no operating from a state that you need to know every single step in physical reality. It is operating from the state at which you are creating from your highest self. Then you tune in to the next step that is necessary, having made that choice to move forward (or not). You must take aligned flowing actions and choice.

Listen to the interview to understand how to work with your thoughts, become the observer and enter a state of flow and conscious manifestation.

Technique / Practice for Direct Experience

Every time you have thoughts that you do not want the key is to thank them and accept them. Whatever you resist persists. As long as you resist the thoughts they will come back until you allow the experience to flow through.

The first step is to be the observer of your thoughts. If something is causing resistance, then allow them to happen with the power of your imagination. Melt into all resistance that show up. This will allow you to release these experiences which are keeping you locked in patterns.

Our guest Tracey McFadden will be talking to us about what is Reiki and why did she choose it. Together we’ll get a better understanding this modality as well as how it may be beneficial to your life.

In our current spiritual landscape, it is not unusual to come across the word Reiki. I’ve seen many courses, I’ve heard of the term attunement and I have met several practitioners. I even had a friend do a session on me. After all, that I must admit that I still do not really know what Reiki is.

Reiki is a Japanese modality healing art. It is a universal energy that each of us possess from the moment that we are born. Rei means universal and Ki means chi or life force. The practitioner directs his Ki energy towards the patient through their hands. In a treatment there is an intermingling of the energies of the Reiki master and the patient. Everyone in a session are receiving energy.

During a session the energy can fill a room or any space and is always exchanged in between the people. The intensity of the energy can be changed to meet the needs of the patient. When you are preparing for a session you are invited to sit and think as to what you want in your session. Also consider how much energy you want to receive as well as for how much time you want the treatment to last. There is a principle in Reiki that we cannot send energy to a person that is not willing. This is both an ethical guideline as well as a function of how the energy works.

Tracey began learning Reiki when she set out the intention to become an entrepreneur and contemplated her purpose. The word Reiki kept showing up so she decided to follow this path. When she had her attunement she realized that this magical experience that she felt could not be contained to herself. After experiencing such a profound shift, she had to offer this to others.

Tracey explains what exactly is an attunement and discusses some doubts that she had as she embarked on this journey. She also talks about Reiki symbols and how they play a role in this practice. There are 4 symbols for power, emotions, universal which impacts all time and space, and master. She gives you a tangible example of the changes in her life that occurred within the 21-day period after being attuned.

During the interview you will get guidelines on finding the right practitioner, how to know if the Reiki is working during the session and some observable effects in your life. No matter what you should feel something regardless of the nature of the session.

Tune in to the show to get a broader understanding of Reiki, how it works, why you might consider pursuing this discipline and the benefits it may have on your life.

Once you finish walking the labyrinth go to a private location and write very quickly what are your observations of the walk and yourself. You don’t want to stop and critic your thoughts or writing. After finishing this exercise review it to decide if there is a particular action you should be taking as a result of your insights.

Jesse Field Call is a Licensed and Certified Heart Math Resilience Trainer. At the age of 5 he had an experience of a direct connection to his own heart that was to set the stage for his heart work later in life.  It wasn't until nearly 40 years later that he understood the spontaneous knowing that he had physical control over the Chi energy that originates from the heart.

How much influence can the heart have over your life? What about the lives of others? This interview is the perfect blend of science, spirit and personal experience!

When Jesse was out in nature at the age of 5 there was something that his him in his tracks. He told himself that he doesn’t know what this is right now and to remember this sensation as it will come in handy later in life. Much later in life when his mother passed away he was in the process of writing a book on the stages of recovery from addiction. This led him to get angry at God as well as go in a depression shortly.

As he was going into a downwards spiral he had a dream one night around 3 am. He jumped out of bed and walked into the kitchen… while still having a dream. There were three people in the dream, God, Jesus and a third figure that was perhaps Buddha. He got angry at God in his dream for taking away his mother. He didn’t hold back as he laid it thick. If this is how things were going to be run, he didn’t want to play anymore. Through all this what he remembers is the love that he could feel in the dream.

God responded by saying ‘Jesse you are exactly right. Change is coming and change will happen. Today we will start with you.”

Through this dream he was taught several fundamental things, one of which is the power of non-judgement. We spend so much energy on judging others, ourselves and our thoughts. Jesse decided to practice non-judgement for 30 days. This blasted open his heart. It resulted in tremendous healing and life shifts as well as learning the Heart Math path.

The heart forms before the brain forms. It is the area with which we interface with our bodies. When we connect with the heart we learn more than if we work through any other parts of our bodies. The heart emits a powerful magnetic field. Jesse explains how you can enter a state of resonance that allows you to be the best self that you can be. This impacts your creativity, thinking and body functions.

Jesse goes in more detail about the coherent state, that state of resonance which is optimal. When you enter this state the vibration you emit helps other people get in a harmonious state. What is amazing is that you can practice the protocols which will shift your state and activate the power of your heart in minutes… all backed up by a scientific background.

Listen to the interview to be guided through a practice to enter this heart coherence state.

Technique / Practice for Direct Experience

Jesse teaches you a quick technique to enter the coherent state.

  1. Focus your attention to the area of your heart. Imagine that your breath is coming in and out of your heart at the chest area. Breath at a comfortable rhythm that is slightly slower than usual. A recommendation is 5 seconds in and 5 seconds out. Make sure you focus on the heart area which is the most important.
  2. As you are breathing in and out of your heart area, make a serious attempt to experience a regenerative feeling such as attention or care for someone you like or a pet. You can also focus on experiencing the sensation of calm or ease.

Practicing this will help you cultivate a positive feeling. The more you practice it will become increasingly easier to shift into more positive states. This also increases your resilience level as well as your ability to handle stress.

By practicing this method for 30 days you will increase your resilience level.

Jeremy Youst is a certified Somatic Breath Therapy Practitioner and the founder/director of the internationally accredited Power of Breath Institute. He shares a message that you hold the key to spiritual mastery within yourself. Your breath allows you to enter various states of consciousness and develop your spiritual mastery.

In this interview you will learn the various ways that you can utilize your breath and practice the Reset Breath which is perfect prior to entering a meditation, when you are feeling stressed, feeling overwhelmed or want to shift your emotions.

I’ve been personally mentored with our guest over the past years. I met him shortly after coming back from the Amazon rainforest of Peru. His teachings allowed me to integrate my dream like experience as well as embrace spirit through everything and everyone.

Through our time together I’ve learned to embrace the community space and the magic that happens through meaningful relationships.

Breathing in energy that supports our physical existence and our soul and spirit’s existence. Through awareness of the breath we can change our physiological responses and the areas of the brain which are activated.

By breathing consciously, you are able to take a journey with your awareness which will enrich your life. How you are breathing today reveals a story of how your body adapted to overwhelming experience. The natural response to threat is to hold our breath. If we perceive a threat over time our breath also gets suppressed and chronically shut down over time. How do you reverse these changes which impact your life?

The breath can be used to balance your sympathetic, fight or flight system, and parasympathetic relax and digest system. This will relieve your stress, anxiety caused by thoughts which rise from your environment. Breath awareness and practice offers you a solution to the unnecessary tension that you experience throughout your life.

We have been using conscious breath ever since the start of consciousness. Many ancient traditions use different breathing techniques, such as Pranayama from yoga and Vedism born in the areas around India and the Himalaya.

Near the end of the discussion Jeremy shares his view that we are all made of spirit. As human beings we are lucky that one of the primary functions for our survival is tied to activating more spiritual presence and essence. The breath helps attune you to the energy that is shared between all of us. A connection is made between conscious breathing and the practice of mindfulness.

Technique / Practice for Direct Experience

Jeremy teaches you the Reset Breath which you can use to free yourself of stress, thoughts that are worrying you or to increase your energy levels. It provides a sense of quiet and relaxation of the mind.

Ground your legs comfortable on the ground. Place a hand on your lower belly and the other hand on your upper chest. This will allow you to feel where you breathe. The belly should expand outwards while rolling up into the chest as well as the ribcage. With a deep breath it can lift the shoulders although you don’t need to worry about this part.

2/3 of the breath should be in the lower belly with 1/3 in the chest and shoulder area. Relaxing the belly will allow this natural breath to show itself. On each exhale you let the air drop out of your mouth while releasing tension through your body. There is no effort needed.

As soon as you finish the exhale you skip over the pause to inhale. Jump over the pause at the end of the inhale to let the exhalation flow out immediately. On the 10th inhalation you will hold your breath for a few counts and then let go.

The total practice is 10 or 11 breathes.

If you notice any challenging sensations, you can do the exercise limiting it to about 3 breathes or slowing down the speed of your breathing to ease into the practice.

Listen to the interview to take a step into cultivating your awareness, be here now.

In this show our guest and my friend J V Crum III shares with you how to enter the Flow Zone and Focus Zone which he discovered on his own journey of self-discovery. He shares the three steps for you to enter your Millionaire Inner Zone which enables you to sink in a state of being and doing which is perfectly integrated.

By combining heart, mind and body, you can build the conscious business of your dreams, be on purpose and explore yourself with more ease. What J V talks about is empowering you to make the passionate difference that you are here to make. He also shares a perspective on confusion that you will surely appreciate as you continue on your own journey.

Ultimately J V shares what I feel is one of the key to life success through his personal motto: Trust Perfect Timing. When you enter a state of being-ness you can tap into synchronicities as well as intuitive insights. This will guide you to what our guest calls your True North. This is the vision which is pulling you forward. It is connected to the passionate difference that you are here to make.

Regardless of your journey, everything you experience prepares you for this moment. This perspective brings a sense of ease to your life journey. You will want to hear what the host of the Conscious Millionaire Podcast shares with you with full authenticity and vulnerability. What is the connection between purpose, self, God and the universe?

J V shares the three pieces to enter your Millionaire Inner Zone and your Flow Zone.

  1. The process of being present. Think of Ekhart Tolle The Power Of Now. The easiest and fastest way is to use the breath. Put your feet on the floor, take 3 deep breaths to slow yourself down and bring yourself in the present. Now you are here right now.
  2. Shift the mind from a state of ‘I know exactly how to get there’ and be open to the universe bringing you a more efficient and easier way to accomplish your goal. Allow yourself to be in the unknowing and having your path shift as to let the possibilities occur.
  3. Being authentic. The way that J V thinks of authentic is that each of us have a feeling in our body, a visual or perhaps a sound which allows us to know that something feels real first us. When you take a step, does it feel real to you?

During the interview J V discusses how you can enter the Focus Zone from the Flow Zone described above.

Listen to explore these questions and get insights that you can apply in every moment of your life.

Brendan Sage a conscious youth brings his perspective on mindfulness, shields, meditation and communication. He offers simple ways for you to navigate stressful situations from every day life such as work related challenges and navigating traffic. Then he goes in more depth as to how you can adopt a communication framework to be successful in business, projects and relationships.

Brendan works on several projects at once and is aware that he needs to stay focus which is how he reaches his goals. In this show he shares a message that you are IT and are born complete. You can shift the paradigm of self-improvement to adopt a view point of self-help return to your state of perfection.

He discusses the connection between creating your shield, meditation and mindfulness. In its core essence meditation brings you back inwards and frees you of the thoughts that are clouding your mind every day. It is about truly being with yourself and your essence. The shield allows you to protect yourself from emotional dumping from other people that you encounter in your day to day life. A shield is not cutting you off from society. Rather it is being centered.

Technique / Practice for Direct Experience

To create your shield, do a meditation session when you start your day. By including this in your morning routine it will make you more resilient to what shows up during your day. About 20 minutes will bring you in a state of centering without any side effects.

If you are in a high stress moment, such as a person yelling at you. Experience the emotions in that conversation. Don’t worry about what happens in the moment. AFTER the moment, ask yourself, am I truly feeling this emotion? Why am I feeling this emotion? Where do I feel this emotion? How can I prevent this in the future?

Brendan also shares the 4 Point Communication Philosophy for success in business, projects, relationships and life.

  1. Establish authority and credibility: Tell people WHY we should listen to you, why should we trust you with a project and give you our attention.
  2. Offering Value: This is giving value while not expecting something in return. You should be clear on your intention. Authenticity is key here. This is about taking action with a serving mindset.
  3. Validate yourself with social proof: Find out who is listening to your message? Are people giving you attention and trusting you? In this modern age social media is a big factor that determines the reach and impact you have. Your personal network is the best kind of connection because this is what creates the most trust.
  4. Think from the Abundance Mindset: Don’t act out of desperation. This is acting from a place that everything is perfect right now.

Brendon goes in more details about mindfulness using the example of eating. What happens when you eat while distracting yourself with other activities such as watching television? When you are making changes in your life you will face eternal resistance. What does this mean? Tune in to find out!

Cathi Hargaden is an internationally acclaimed expert in the ancient art of Feng Shui. She discusses the influence of geometry, movement, environment, space, sounds and colors on your experience of life. Feng Shui is much more than the art of working with your external environment.

During this episode Cathi takes you inside rooms within yourself through a meditation process. You will unlock hidden treasures and potential for you to have a direct experience of your inner beauty. What you will learn will bring you towards a state of greater happiness and a sense of feeling good.

Cathi offers you techniques to get started with meditation as well as slowing down. This leads her to sharing the key to your inner home through a powerful guided meditation.

Find your favorite corner of your home. Surround yourself by pleasant textures. You can add a candle although you don’t need extra tools. Then take a deep breath in, hold it, and as you breath out bring your attention down from your head to your face, throat all the way down the bottom through the feet.

Another technique is breathing in for 4, holding for 4 and then letting go slowly to a count of 6, 7 and 8. Repeat this a few times which will start to change your thoughts.

You can also take a deep breath in, hold and then when you breath out say ‘slow down now’.

Then ask yourself, what would happen if you doubled the slowing down or double the stillness?

Cathi concludes with instructions on how to open the door to your inner world. The meditation is spontaneous with a surprising level of depth. This is a must listen to discover the amazing wealth contained within yourself.

Listen to the interview to unlock hidden jewels and have a greater understanding of you inner and outer environment.

Lisa Carberry, a modern day mystic, offers you an exploration of the concept of Becoming One with Self and One with All. During our conversation Lisa discusses perspectives, filters and states of being at length as well as the role of education and beliefs.

Through observation you can recognize that you are bigger than what you can see, feel or touch. This leads to greater personal responsibility and ultimately empowers you to raise your vibration and energy.

Lisa was featured in The Spiritual Voice Exclusive interview series which you can get through our app at http://thespiritiualvoice.com/smart/ . True to herself each word is carefully spoken. She also talks about God, gurus, love and your creative potential.

Listen to this interview for a mind opening discussion of spirituality.

Technique / Practice for Direct Experience

Lisa provides us an easy technique to shift our energy which is to work with a gratitude journal. In this journal write everything for which you are grateful for, ranging from a simple experience at the grocery store to more significant events in our life. We can also express gratitude without using the journal.

Lisa then shares that we can use song, dance and music to shift our energies. Dance like no one is watching.

She also has a play list that she uses in her times of emergencies. The first songs are uplifting and empowering. This is followed by a series of musical pieces which stir up and allows her to cry. After these tracks she uses music that allows to build up more positive energy. The final tracks are Whitney Houston ‘One Moment in Time’ and ‘The Greatest Love of All’. You can make your own play list to experience the emotions that are wanting to move through you.

After using this method of working with music notice how your energy has shifted by observing where you started and finished as a result of going through the process.

Adam Farmer is a motivational speaker, production trainer and business coach that specializes in helping budding entrepreneurs realize their small business dreams, empowering them to make their own choices about careers, time and wealth.

During the interview he goes in more depth about his experience at Seminary which led him to have a disdain for mediocre church organizations and the connection between purpose and fulfillment. We talk about the concept of deconstruction, what it is and how your work and service in the world is tied to spirituality.

He discusses the 4 pillars of promise which lead you to live in harmony with the gifts that you were born with and lead a truly successful life making positive impact in the world.

Adam gives you an overview of how to attain fulfillment in your life and achieve spiritual and professional well-being through the 4 pillars of promise.

  1. You have to know your purpose. That is your foundation by which everything else you choose to do is going to be based on. Whatever it is you must feel a clear yes in every part of your being… otherwise it’s not it.
  2. Assess what you are really gifted at doing, what are YOUR strengths. Understanding what you are innately good at doing. This is who you are. you can’t buy this or get this by academics. He recommends you do the Gallup Stress Assessment – Clifton StrengthsFinder (Adam is not affiliated with this assessment and its very affordable).
  3. Create a value statement for YOU. What is the value and contribution that you are going to make to the world? This is what makes you a leader.
  4. Develop your own entrepreneurial dream team because you can’t do this work alone. You have to be able to communication your VISION and MISSION as this will attract the right team to you because they are aligned with what spirit wants you to do.

To find your purpose, Adam encourages you to notice what is causing you to have strong emotional reactions. This can show up watching the news, Facebook, videos, etc.

Regardless of the emotion, this is an indicator that you have solutions inside of you to the problems you are seeing. This is the source of your emotional reaction. When you feel these frustrations daily you should dig deeper because you may have simple solutions to these problems.

He also provides a meditation technique from Eckhart Tolle which is to take 2 conscious breathes. Then do this as many times as possible throughout your day.

Could Marc Mawhinney be the name of your guide? Kidding aside we actually address this during the interview. Listen to find out more!
